The story behind the work
On the edge of the Atlantic in Lahinch, Clare Shore Ceramics creates quiet, tactile pieces shaped by the rhythms of coastal life. From everyday tableware to one-off sculptural vessels, each piece is thrown and glazed in the studio, carrying subtle variations that reflect the character of the clay and the hand of its maker.
The collection is guided by a belief that useful objects can also hold beauty. Soft forms, speckled surfaces and ocean-inspired tones give each piece a calm, grounded presence—made to become part of daily rituals, yet distinctive enough to be displayed and appreciated in its own right.
No two pieces are entirely alike. Small differences in shape, colour and glaze are embraced as part of the process, giving every object an individual character and a lasting connection to the place in which it was made.
